WVC Staff

The people that make it happen.

The Willamette Volleyball Classic is directed by John Downey.  John is from Milwaukie, OR, and has a wealth of experience in volleyball and with the Columbia Empire Volleyball Association.

Louise Barnard of Corvallis, OR, returns to a prominent role in the WVC this year, taking over all aspects of vending and assisting in the direction of the 2010 WVC FanFest.  Louise helped get the WVC off the ground in 2007 and played an integral role in the tournament's success in 2007-2009.

The Willamette Volleyball Classic wouldn't be possible without the dedicated involvement of the Oregon State Air Force ROTC (Detachment 685). The cadets of Detachment 685 assist in all aspects of tournament logistics, including set-up and tear-down of the volleyball courts, and serve as court monitors, directional assistants, and parking monitors.

John Potts & Norman Halleen both serve on the board of the Willamette Classic.  They play integral roles in the logistical set-up of the tournament and both help in various aspects during the tournament itself.  Manny Landa also returns to the tournament desk this year.

In 2008 and 2009, the WVC got an infusion of support from Webfoot Volleyball Club (Eugene, OR), which provided volunteers to serve in a number of different roles during the tournament.  Without a strong force of volunteers, events such as this one are not possible.

Numerous other volunteers return in 2010 to continue their roles with the WVC.  Among them are Brittany Fobi, Bob & Holly Cahoon, Abby Swancutt, Kristin Murray, Ashley Evans, Nestor Iparraguirre, and others.

The Oregon State Volleyball Club Team runs the Interactive Area and also assists in other aspects of the tournament as a fundraiser.
